Hello dear readers! This is really a long shot, but I must ask, because even with my most crazy random requests, you guys have always jumped in with valuable help.
As you might have read earlier, I have been preparing for the last half a year to meet editors at BD Angouleme, the biggest comics convention in Europe. My plans are to pitch both Sister Claire and Nightingale to editors and try to get them officially published.
Unfortunately, at the last minute, the guys who were in charge of the hotel booking have had all sorts of horrible things happen to them… one of my friends got really bad healthy issues, and another had a car drive right into the side of his house (for the second time this YEAR.) Needless to say, keeping in contact with them has become almost impossible and I’m not sure they will be attending at all. While my heart really goes out to them for these issues, I am also now stuck in a troublesome situation myself. It’s impossible to find a hotel in Angouleme at this point! D:
Are ANY of my readers going to/living in Angouleme between the 27th and the 30th of January?
If you have booked a hotel, I wouldn’t mind sleeping on the floor of your room. If you’re driving, we could carpool, and I’ll pay my share of the gas (although I think I can still buy train tickets at this point, I’ll can settle for leaving way early and arriving way late).
I know it’s really late to be asking this, but I thought I’d throw it out there just in case. If you know anyone who IS going… please ask them if they can take one more tag along. I’m very well-behaved and will pay my share of everything. Thanks in advance guys. <3

If no one steps up, you could try http://www.couchsurfing.org/ to try to find someone in the area. They might not be fans or readers, but they may have a couch!
I checked Hostelling International, and it says there’s a hostel in Angoulême, although booking isn’t available online.
Hostels are a TON cheaper than hotels (the one I most frequent $22 USD per night in a gender-specific dorm, they give you bedding, tokens for the shower, and stuff to make pancakes for breakfast), and I’ve found that they’re generally very nice.
Also, you mentioned you were working on something to do with ASL? Feel free to contact me for any help you may need. ASL was my first language, and I know all about the grammar and the specific differences between ASL, signed English, and C-sign (which is super useful for deaf kids learning to write English, but is a bit of a joke in the deaf community).
