I found out that Bob Heske is making a comics anthology about the End of the World: http://www.coldbloodedchillers.com/2012anthology.html
I’ve decided to submit a comic, but I’m having trouble thinking about how the world should end…I’d like to do something sort of tongue in cheek. So, I’ll turn it over to you… how do you think the world should end? If I like your idea, I might use it to make my submission. =) (Be as serious or silly as you like!)

Quietly in its sleep?
Here’s an idea: First panel, people lying all over the ground, writhing in pain, as some kind of ghastly noise is tearing the world apart. Character in foreground asks another, “What is that wailing sound?”, whose reply is, “I don’t know!” Second panel, Person A and Person B follow wailing noise around side of building, then hide behind dumpster. Third panel is a close-up of A & B’s shocked faces, as they realize the harbingers of doom are — Panel 4, Bill Berry, Mike Mills, Peter Buck and Michael Stipe, a.k.a. R.E.M., singing “It’s the End of the World as We Know It.”
How about destroying it with a giant kitty… MAKE IT KAWAII!!!
When you think about it, everyone has the world ending in a conflict, massive war, trauma, etc., but suppose for a moment, the world was united. everyone has love for everyone else. But one person thinks it is strange for things to be this way. But unraveling the mystery follows (not literally, but figuratively) the end of Days. Until at last the mystery is solved, just in time for the apocolypse, or ragnarock, or d-day, whichever you prefer.
The rent finally comes due, but humanity can’t pay it because we used up all the oil. So we get evicted. And die from inability to breathe vacuum about 30 seconds later. ;-p
