This page had more layers of color effects than you could possibly imagine. O_O I also managed to work some more subtle references in there. XD I’ll point two out, just so you can compare what they look like. One is Claire’s dress, it’s what Maria wore to the ball in the Sound of Music: (click for full size)
The other is Claire’s camera, (which we’ll see more of later) which is an ancient old Polaroid 1000 from 1977. The nuns don’t exactly keep up on latest technologies. XD

First. That is all.
Oh sweet merciful crap! *lol!*
The kung fu guy in the first panel, I forget where I seen that from….
Bubble boys love to serve don’t they? (splurt!-hehe funny)
Ah-HA! I spy Aang – the title character of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” in the first panel! I’d recognize that arrow on his head anywhere!
Also it could just be the red hair and the fact that her outfit’s made of drapery, but I think she reminds me of Giselle from Disney’s “Enchanted” in today’s comic…
Awe, Claires cute all trussed up and fancy in her custom dress, though one of these days, I think her cheeks are gonna melt off~
Claire’s covered wars, you know. What with that camera and all. (Oh, please, let someone catch that reference…)
i would like you to know that i litterally sqealled “oh my gosh thats so adorible!” at the first pannel. and it is!
i do like clare more and more. shes very sweet. but gabe is soo hotter xD
Who doesn’t love Dead Rising References, grayfox ;D
Hey now, don’t go mocking the venerable Polaroid.
I have an XS-70 that predates your 1000 by at least a couple years.
AHHH!!! Sound of music! I was totally thinking it! <3!
I’m suprised no one saw Aang on the wall behind Claire.
You know, it might not be Aang. It could just be an airbender monk.
Oh, man, I am SO eagerly awaiting the next comic. I can’t wait to see what just SPLURTed onto the scene.
Oh, and Claire seems to be having just a leetle troubling grokking the concept of a “girls’ night out”… Her naivete remains adorable.
Monday can not get here soon enough!!!!
Wizard: You win for using the word grok on the interwebs.
i love the sound of music ref
Oh sweet merciful- not in there, oh please anywhere but there.
I never commented before but this page is so wonderful I couldn’t let it go without saying something. Complimenti, sei bravissima!
(You do speak italian, don’t you?)
I’ve never seen “Sound of Music” but when I saw the first panel I just thought “she totally looks like Maria von Trapp”!
But that’s just because I <3 the anime "Trapp Family Story"…
Keep up the good work!
Claire is adorable!
I just love the look on Claire’s face because of the item transfer, this time is even better i can’t wait to see what came out of the bubble boy this time! and may i just say, i think i’m in love with Gabrielle.
Alisha
Actually, I believe THEY’RE the items being transferred! Claire’s expression is very appropriate for such a transfer.
Can you even *get* fil for Polaroids anymore?
Well…Yes you can get film for Polaroids; but it is getting rather expensive! I could do was $18 USD for 10 exposures! I can change out the color cartridge on my Kodak printer for less than that…*crotchety old fart grumble*
I’m dating myself, but I was thinking of the classic “Gone with the Wind” sketch from “The Carol Burnett Show” when Claire said she made the dress out of drapes. I did get the Maria reference, but I had to look harder for Aang.
My amazement never ceases concerning your color palette, especially in panels 5 and 6. Claire’s face in panel 4 is so sweet and innocent — I suspect she’s in for a mind-blowing from Gabrielle.
As for what just splurted into existence, I’m hoping it’s a hot car and the keys to said car, even though driving a sports car in the snow isn’t easy.
That bag is pretty close in shape to another Julie Andrew’s character’s…….. Mary Poppins!
Isn’t it funny how things don’t look like things anymore? I mean, THAT is what you think of when you try to draw a camera… if you try to draw a phone, it’s one of those little things that actually has a cord and a receiver shaped like a retarded headphones. and bombs will always look like spherical shiny things.. or maybe bundles of cylinders.. instead of uh.. what do real bombs look like?
Anyway that’s larious.
Dear God I’ve still got that camera in a closet somewhere.
I love her dress! It’s so cute!
And wow, I almost forgot about Polaroids. I haven’t seen one of those in many, many years.
Claire looks adorable in that dress. As for the poll, I wouldn’t mind seeing some printed art in a possible store. Like a reall high quality picture of Claire or something. Coffe cups are good too though.
Everytime Gabrielle blows out a bubble boy, I’m reminded of how she came out of a toilet…It doesn’t help that the accompanying font is similar to those used by toilet cleaner ads.
…
Wait a second. Please don’t tell me their way of transport is through a toilet.
I LOVE the Sound of Music…..and Claire looks so adorable…
“They were going to throw out these old drapes anyway…” ?!?!? That would be TWO Sound of Music refs…
OMG, when I saw that picture of Maria my first thought was “Wow that’s a really realistic picture of Claire! I wonder what software she used?”
Not exactly a huge Sound of Music fan…
I love how she made the dress out of drapes … guess that’s something nuns like to do!!
OK I have to say that I immediately thought of that Carol Burnett sketch too. “I saw it on the rack and I just had to have it” LOL
Yamino-san, anta wa sugoku subarishii desu yo
awww she looks so cute lol …. and im sure everyone noticed the air bender in panel one … any others im just oblivious to lol … but man for a girls night out i dont imagine sun dresses … more like heels, strapless dresses, and clubs and dance music lol … wonder if thats what Gabrielle thinks too … guess we’ll just have to see lol
awwwwwwwwww, she’s so cute and nice camera, I would love to have one of those… just for fun
Hopefully someone reads this.
I just realized (constructive criticism here)
If the story keeps going on the way it does, we aren’t going to get much of a pregnant nun. Not that thats a bad thing. Even if she does learn how to fight, it would be useless within the months cause of the babies health.
Not only that, but wouldn’t there be people other than sister cat trying to kill her? Cause this is such an important savior after all. That, and you can’t keep pregnancy a secret forever, eventually the other nuns are going to find out. Maybe they could protect her in the long run who knows.
So yeah, the point I am getting at is. How is she supposed to protect herself. Unless the entire ordeal takes place before she gets to pregnant, which would only be a month time span before it really affects her.
But yeah, great story. Transitions between the different pages are a little abrupt, but yeah, I like this.
As a fellow writer, I really admire your work Yamino.
I think we are suppose to wait and find out, I mean, it is a story. Knowing the main plot points now would kind of make it not as much fun.
I am sure it will be awesome either way.
Why do I see a statue of that bald air bending dude in the background?
And here I was all, “Do nuns even have cameras?”
What, did I think cameras were an affront to God before this? I don’t even know! That one is an old classic, though!
I have that same Polaroid, I bought it from a goodwill back in the nineties. However I didn’t have the fancy electric flash, mine had the flash bar instead. Too bad they don’t make the film for it anymore,
Oh dear, this page was beautiful and I loved the Avatar reference, but I can’t help but worry for little Claire. After all, she’s going out without telling anyone in the convent. Also no one there yet knows of her pregnancy, and she has one rather angry old nun looking over her shoulder. I can’t help but feel that this little girls night out will do more harm than good for her in the long run.
What if after it’s discovered that she’s pregnant that no one believes that it’s the savior and that whole business is just an excuse to cover up some ‘naughty’ behavior she had that night when she snuck out. What if it just makes her life worse and causes her to lose all the trust and compassion of her fellow nuns!? Oh goodness, oh deary me, what would happen to Claire then??
Well, I really can’t wait to see more!

Some authors and artists like to work at their own pace. I can’t say for sure with the artist of this beautiful webcomic, but sometimes when authors/artists have a lot of ideas and a desire to express them, they’ll not be forced into cheapening the experience by making themselves hurry up. Besides, that can cheapen the experience, the laughs, or the point the author/artist is trying to make. While it is good to keep an ear out for comments and critiques by their fans, they shouldn’t be ruled by them, and should put themselves and what they desire to write/draw *first*. After all, it is *their* vision, and nobody else’s to rule–just to enjoy. If people don’t like it, they don’t have to read it.
I somehow doubt that the artist got this far into it to abruptly realize she doesn’t have a plot. *L* Give it some time.
Actually, my imagination is, unfortunatley, on the condition of the poor Bubble-Boy’s Butt.
Hooooooooooooooolyyyyyyyyyyyyyy wow. O_o
wait whats that thing behind gabrielle? in the third panel?
a robot? i was gonna say eve wall-e reference but im not so sure
I saw the first panel and went *MARIA*! Drapes for dresses and all
Claire looks beautiful in this dress, I think
haha i see Avatar in the back too :d i love this comic!
