The first ever drawing of Gabrielle.  This was before I had even decided to make Sister Claire in a more Powerpuffy, Junko Mizuno-y style.

I remember her old character concept and design was a more “unbearably perky, know-it-all librarian” as opposed to “sexy businesswoman.”  She had glasses, and I had also toyed with the idea of her being able to turn into a cockatoo.  Why? Because it seemed like a good idea, I guess.

It was only later when I was experimenting with more bold color schemes that I tried making her blue.  I was surprised to find that I really loved that color on her, so blue she stayed.  After that, her whole personality and water associations started to fall into place, resulting in her current incarnation!

It was only a matter of time. I drew Claire and Gabrielle in the style of “Panty and Stocking,” which is probably about to become my new favorite anime. For the art style, at least. <3

I started this on time, but since I was at MCM Expo and then immediately had to go back to class on my return, I wasn sadly unable to finish this Halloween pic on time. But I HAVE to make a Halloween pic! It’s my birthday, after all!

Hopefully everyone will get the theme of Claire and Gabrielle’s costumes this year. XD

I was not able to wear purple today, so I wanted to draw something to still show my support for bullied gay teens in the wake of the recently publicized suicides. I want to add something though, something I feel the “It Gets Better” campaign has really overlooked. The problem isn’t that gay teens are having trouble coping with bulling.

THE PROBLEM IS THE BULLYING. How would it be acceptable if this was a support movement for beaten housewives? Would we be content with just saying “It’s going to get better?” Here’s a suggestion. How about “I promise to do everything I can to put an end to homophobic bullying”? Educate yourself, educate those around you, and speak up when you hear someone say something hurtful. It’s all good to wear purple and show support, but the most important thing is to speak up and make a difference.

The characters on the right are from my upcoming comic series, Nightingale. (Click here for more concept art.) Sofie (Nightingale) is making the ASL sign for “Love.” (Can also mean “I Love You.”) Emily was signing “Spirit,” but she’s been interrupted. XD

I am SO tired, this was very hard to put together- I loathe group pictures, but this was even weirder than usual due to my two completely different styles. XD;

Ever since Emy made that adorable Sister Claire fanart for me, I’ve been wanting to thank her with a fanart of my own. Today I finally had time to read through her webcomic, "Trying Human," and I highly recommend it. Her artwork just gets better and better, and I love the character designs too. Oh, and it’s about aliens. What more could you want? XD

I like 8′s design a lot. I was also amused how she kind of seems the opposite of Gabrielle- dark color palette, short hair- despite also being designed as a "sexy business suit" type. I really wanted to put them in a picture together, and this was what happened. Both girls in their environment! Well… sort of.

P.S. This is a censored version of the original picture, where Gabrielle was topless. I figured I could keep that one as a donation incentive or something. XD

I bought a new notebook yesterday, so I broke it in with a sketch of Gabrielle and Smurfette. Don’t ask me how they managed to switch clothes when they are so different in size- these questions go best unasked. >_>
