I drew this around 2:30 am last night, so it looks a little weird to me.  Still, it’s Gabrielle. <33  I’ve missed her so!

As part of my final classes, I’m making a personal portfolio website to showcase my best work, as well as hve my resume up for potential employers.  I’ve been staying up very late every night working on this in addition to Sister Claire. T_T  Here’s a sample of what will be on my portfolio website.  Allow me to introduce my muse:

Her name is Miloo, and she has been inspiring me since I can remember. XD  Also, I think she might make a cameo in Sister Claire someday.  Look out for her! =)

So, Editor’s Day is coming up here at SCAD, and I’m planning to pitch this Dutch Blind Superhero story to DC and Marvel.  That calls for a it more concept art, so here’s what I’ve been cooking up lately.  (If you’re unfamiliar with this story, check the Nightingale tag at the bottom of this post, or click here.)

First off, another cover, this one is not totally polished, but I think it gets the idea across.  It’s Sofie, without her Nightingale getup:

Next, two character designs.  The first is Emily, Sofie’s deaf cousin, and Jack, Sofie’s guardian/bodyguard/butler. (Yes, I’m aware he looks rather effeminate… this is what I get for drawing cute girls too much! I’ll fix him up.)

Getting in the Halloween spirit. A bit early, I know… Halloween is my birthday, so that’s my excuse! You’ll never guess who this is. >8D

A concept design for Pele, inspired by my visit to Hawaii. She is the ill-tempered goddess of volcanoes. I think my favorite thing about her legends is how all of them inevitably end with her getting pissed off and killing everyone with molten lava. Fun fact: Pele is the only Hawaiian diety still openly worshiped.

I was looking through some old DVD backups, and I found some old art/comics I’d done at SCAD as class assignments. This first one was from an assignment where I had to do a week’s worth of newspaper-strip format comics. I was having some trouble with a roommate at the time, and I think it translated into this comic about a Pirate and a Ninja who end up as college roommates. Their neighbors are a Robot and a dinosaur. Hilarity ensues?
There are more, but this was the best one. I think I’ll include the whole set in a book sometime. XD

This was part of a scratch-board assignment. The only requirement was that it had to have 3 panels. It may surprise people who were blissfully unaware that I have a morbid side. I distinctly recall drawing this right after my last attempt at dating. >8(

This is the finished version of this sketch. There are still some issues to work out with some of the other character’s colors… so the palette may be changed a bit next time you see it.
