…And it seems Claire is having trouble fitting into her pants? Oh dear, this doesn’t bode well at ALL.
…This gets me to thinkin’, maybe I should make a Nun-Fu instruction manual as an extra with the printed version of this comic.

FIRST!
(sorry, always wanted to do that)
I read all of the Sister Claire comics today, and they are AWESOME. Keep up the good work!
LOL already getting fat?
cool to watch the old one do nun fu
Aww, Claire. I love all of her expressions on this page.
And yoda nun is pwnage in that last panel. XD
As a gloomy language gus, I’ll be the first to point out that the proper spelling is “resurrection”. I figure that word might pop up again.
@Nolan: Oops, thanks! I corrected it!
Everyone else: You missed one hidden weapon reference! I wonder who will guess it first. ;D
I would TOTALLY buy a Nun-Fu instruction manual with the first book of Sister Claire. Seriously. That would be awesome.
Lol, the references fly thick and fast in this one…Sokka’s club, the Batarang, a rapier with a pokeball on it…not to mention Sister Yoda and her…yoda-ness.
Oo, oo, oo! I see a chakram, a boomerang, a batarang and the silly sword Flash Gordon was brandishing at the end of the film!!!
so that’s were Sokka’s club wound up! always wondered were it went
stellar work all around Yamino ^_^
also like the baterang & (what i asume is) Xenas chakram.
That’s an awfully fast pregnancy, there. It’s only been what, two or three days? Unless about two or three months of off-screen time has past.
Interesting weaponry in the background. I spy a batarang and a Water Tribe club. At first I thought that the fancy sword might be Inigo Montoya’s, but further research indicates otherwise (but thank you for an excuse to watch that movie again).
um, does that sword have a pokeball on the end of it? Also awesome nun-fu training.
@bergasms: I think it is a Pokeball!
Also: dananananananana BATNUN!
I just noticed this, but in the first panel there’s a ring there. Could this be a Xena: Warrior Princess reference?
@bergasms and Nate: That is Sokka’s club, from Avatar: the Last Airbender.
It’s not a pokeball, it’s a southern water tribe club.

Also, take a good look at the background in this comic, and see what you find. =D

I also noticed Sokka’s club/sword thingie, but I’m surprised you didn’t do his boomerang, or even better, his space earth sword (which also dissapears at the end of the show)!
hmmm I wonder if Claire is telling the truth or if shes gettign fat bcuz of something else and had to lie her way out of it. great job yamino u keep me coming back and its more addictive than drugs! (thats a compliment bcuz now sister claire is my anti drug
)
The bat shiruken rulz
Hey, I thought it is the 5th chapter by now, isnt it? Somehow it is still marked 4 – 72 though.
Nun Fu instruction manual?! Yes please.
hehehe! Sister Claire is like a Shinigami in bleach!
Batarang, but someone sad that so…
Is it the boomerang?
The jewel encrusted sword?
The punching bag?
mygolly gosh XD
where exactly does a nun get buckets of ice cream?
prolly steals it from monks.
yup! thats it!
the pretty colours in the last pannell are preeeeeetty
That move the Yoda nun just did reminds me of a move Ling Xiaoyu can do.
Is there a Pokeball i see in top right window 4? On the bottom of the sword?
Channeling Yoda, Mother Superior is.
Could one of the swords be the Master Sword? Other than that, I have no idea.
Yoda’s cane?
Crucifex… Pieta… Ressurection! *kick in th face*
ha i see an avatar and a batman easter egg in the same panel
haaaa. I so totally see a water tribe club up there. I love the expressions.
umm ok lets see what i THINK i spot …
Yoda’s Staff
Batman’s Batarang
Sokka’s Sword/Club
Xena’s Chakrum
and Link’s Boomerang from the Zelda series
…. were those good guesses ? … did i pick out the missing one ? … or was it that jeweled sword that i dont know ?
(ps i dont think thats a pokeball guys just a red jewel on the handle)
No, the man (or woman) spotted it! defnaely a Poke`ball.
I didn’t know Yamino liked Poke`mon. Or Batman!
It’d be laid out like one of those oldtimey catholic art books… the paintings of the famous scenes… XD
Claire’s facial expressions are HIGH-larious!!!
i love the easter eggs, but the fact you mentioned that we all missed one made me scour the page…so is it that no one pointed out the Klingon Bat’leth (that swordy thing worf plays with) in panel one?
Sokka’s Instincts > There’re not talking about the thing at left, but the sword at right in pannel 4. It’s definitly a Pokeball.
batman was a nun1 i knew it! XD
To everyone saying this is really early for her waist to be expanding: many pregnant women bloat significantly very early on, and the uterus expands before the baby’s of significant size. I find it plausible. I mean, Yamino isn’t saying she has a bump at this point, or anything.
In the first panel, between the window and the three swords, is what appears to be a Klingon Bat’leth. I think that’s the missing reference Yamino mentioned to
Today I realized that I really wish you’d called it “Nun-jutsu.” Come on! It would be awesome.
(I hope we see nun-chaku, as well…)
just sticking a pokeball up there at random is below yamino. the sword itself must be a reference to something. tho i have no idea what lol. It could still be a weapon from pokemon, but i’ve never seen the movies… JUST TELL US ALREADY! the suspense is killing me.
uh oh. she’s getting too pregnant :O
and nice nun-fu move
Is that a bat’leth I see under the window in panel !?
hehehe Nun fu… I’d soooo learn that! Great page! this reminds me i gotta go practice my martial arts… while claire practice Maternal arts
I find it funny how the catholic nuns use a derivation of kung fu, which is thoroughly based on buddhist an confucian philosophy
*bookmarked!*
I read them all to day, and I love it! Looking forward to seeing more Nun-fu soon!
I haven’t seen anyone else comment about it, but I think Yamino is referring to the punching bag in the first panel. I would assume it is a reference to Rocky in some fashion, and because of my warped mind, I am now hearing the “Montage” song from Team America: World Police. Because all of this “is a montage! Even Rocky had a Montage!” (imagine music playing in the background as I say that.)
Oh, you guys! You still haven’t found it. XD Hint: It’s in the 4th panel.
every body was nun-fu fighting (8)
I must say your webcomic is awesome. I read them all today and I just wish I could draw this good! After reading your comments and such, you really get to thinking how long these pages take to complete. We readers just think(well i did before i started reading this) “oh its only one page, must not take that long to do!” But i (now)know its not that easy, I have an ex who is in the animation field and often takes weeks on projects. It’s just something a lot of people don’t appreciate. So thank you for taking your time to draw and create this awesome comic!
@Rachie:
Aww!! Thank you so much! This comment really made my day. =D The pages take me between 6-8 hours to do, but these days they take longer because I’m trying to overcome a mild depression. A lot of things have not been going so well for me, and it’s hard to get over that apathetic reflex and get down to work. I try not to let my comic suffer for it! =)
well i guess it has to be either the 2 swords at the 4th panel, btw that isn’t a pokeball its part of the sword’s grip
