At the beginning, Sister Catharine was quite hard to draw. I hadn’t quite mastered her “look” yet, and the result was that her appearance was a bit nebulous and changed nearly every time I drew her.
First ever Sister Catharine concept art design:

Sister Catharine, in her early comic appearances:

Over the last couple years, her design has really gotten refined. I gave her face more definition, intending to give her a very subtle, cat-like look.
Sister Catharine now:

I’ve been doing a lot of sketching for future chapters later, and unfortunately a lot of it is really spoilery. Here are some unrelated, non-canon sketches I made just for fun and practice. Feel free to caption them. I’ll post more soon, probably. =)

I’ve been doing a lot of sketching today, but I can’t show most of them because they’re spoilers! Here’s a little preview. Can you tell who it is?

I am so insanely jealous. My brother’s new iMac just arrived, and it’s HUGE. Just in time for him to go off on a 10 day trip to Vienna… and for me to BREAK IT IN FOR HIM. >8D
Sweet jesus would you look at the SIZE OF THIS THING?! AHAHAHA WOOOW

My pricing sign at YaoiYuricon. I was probably the only person in the place selling girly stuff, lol. I was sandwiched by guy on guy action all day long.

Someone requested a Lady Gaga sketch at YaoiYuricon, of course I was glad to oblige!
For reasons I can’t understand, girls kept coming to my table requesting gay porn, despite the fact that I was the ONLY yuri artist there. XD
These are some older sketches from another dedication event:
Thanks again to Alec for sending in this guest page! He’s got his own religious-themed webcomic, Estangel! (www.estrangelcomic.com). It’s pretty funny! XD
I’ve got the next SC page all sketched out, but as you might imagine, it’s hard to get full pages finished when I’m out and about on vacation almost all day. However, I DO have a few sketches to tide you over. These are for Sophia and Meimei, the 2nd and 3rd place winners of my last contest. They both requested pics of Gabrielle, who is admittedly one of my favorite characters to draw:
I’ve got a lot more sketches of Pele in my notebook, too, but they’re all pretty similar, I don’t know if anyone would be interested. XD;
I tried to join an Avatar iScribble party, but nobody showed! I was so sad. I made my own chat and drew a lonely little Ty Lee. At first, she looked really miserable, but then some random stranger popped in, so I made her smile for the company:

For the record, I find iScribble really obnoxious to draw with, it’s almost on par with TegakiE. It supposedly has a zoom function, but I couldn’t get it to work. And no undo function!? Come ON. Even Microsoft Paint has an undo option! I miss Shi-Painter oekaki paintchats. Those are the best. I’ve tried many times to set up a paintchat on my own server, but it’s a lot more complicated that people say it is, because I’ve never managed to get it to work. >8O
I just got back from a very last-minute trip to Italy! Along with some photos, I’ve also taken pics of a few sketches for you! =)
I’ll open up this post with everyone’s favorite thing: magical toilets. I found this one on route to Italy while we were on a highway in Switzerland:

On to the photos! This is a famous statue in Verona, where I spent most of the 3 days visiting family. The statue holds a stone ball, and it’s said that if a truly honest person walks underneath it, he will drop the ball on their head. As you can see, it’s still there… After that, a photo of the Alpine countryside I walked in with my family. That place is used for skiing in the winter, when it’s covered with snow, but right now the only thing covering it is rocks and cows. Last but not least, the Verona colosseum! (Rome isn’t the only Italian city that has one!) Built during the reign of Augustus, this colosseum is also used as a traditional Opera stage.
These next pics were taken in Malchesine, a gorgeous town on the edge of Lago di Garda. (Garda Lake) It’s so picturesque and labyrinthine. The landscape Claire lives in is inspired by a mixture of Tuscany and this place, although we have yet to see the town near her abbey. =) The first picture is of a mountain dubbed”Napoleon’s Nose.” Can you see the profile silhouetted?
I also took these pics at my other relative’s house near Verona. They have a really cute cat named “Sandy”… they named him after the squirrel in Spongebob. XD
An interesting sign advertising ‘Nternet and Fooo.
Last but not least, a few random sketches I did during the trip!
